WHY DO WE HAVE A GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE?
At Griggs, we're establishing a new tradition in our Good Friday service. This gathering is packed with music and scripture readings about the death of Jesus. We take the Lord's supper and then go through in detail all that the crucifixion entailed.
YOU WERE CREATED TO LEAD
Jesus created you to lead something and enjoy doing so.
Right now, believe it or not, you are a leader. You lead yourself, your family, your community, your friend group, your co-workers, and, perhaps, you lead at Griggs.
The word leadership can strike a nerve. We’ve all had leadership experiences where we feel like we’re banging our head against a wall. Typically, it’s because we’re trying to be good leaders rather than Christian leaders.
WHY DO WE EAT TOGETHER SO OFTEN?
When we started officially revitalizing in 2015, one of the first things we implemented, or re-implemented, were church-wide meals. Back then, we did these once a month AND on most holiday weekends. Now the schedule works out a little differently, but it still feels like we’re always eating a meal together.
