HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The number one statement I hear from visitors at Griggs is, "We're looking for a church. One where we can get involved."
I love that statement. I'm always happy to hear it. I usually follow up with the visitors who say it.
However, I do sort of laugh to myself and say, "That's pretty much any church in the State." Personally, I've never been to a church that has a "no involvement" policy. You could probably just say, "We're looking for a church" and stop there.
BAPTISMS AT GRIGGS
At Griggs, we take the scriptures very seriously. In the scriptures, we see the call to baptism for those who have believed in Jesus and follow him. So we want you to get baptized! But we want you to be baptized biblically.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM MEMBERS OF GRIGGS?
When it comes to church membership, really all we ask is that you do what Jesus expects of you - love God and love others. We don't want to add or take away from the two great commandments. However, to be helpful, we give you a few tangible ways we believe your love for God and others should be displayed at Griggs.
HOW DO YOU BECOME A MEMBER OF GRIGGS?
There a few steps to becoming a member of our church:
First, we’re going to ask you to read through our doctrine, mission, and our bylaws (you can pick up a copy from the church) to see if we’re on the same page on some of the most important topics.
WHY DO WE DO CHURCH MEMBERSHIP?
Membership in the church happens when we step into the new covenant Jesus has made with us. Upon salvation, you not only join the church you become the church. The church is a people, not a place.
