HOW DO YOU BECOME A MEMBER OF GRIGGS?

There a few steps to becoming a member of our church:

First, we’re going to ask you to read through our doctrine, mission, and our bylaws (you can pick up a copy from the church) to see if we’re on the same page on some of the most important topics.

Next, you’ll have a conversation with me (Pastor Mitch)! This isn't an interview or a test, it's a chance for us to get to know one another, to ask and answer questions, and discuss your place in the body of Christ. I love talking with the people who are joining Griggs. Here's what we'll talk about:

1. Salvation

I’d love to hear your story. How'd you get saved? When did you start walking with Jesus?

2.  Baptism

If you’ve been baptized, great! If not, then I’d ask that you commit to being baptized at Griggs as part of your membership process. Baptism isn't salvation, it's an act of obedience where we proclaim our salvation. It's an outward picture of our inward belief.

3. Sanctification

Sanctification is a big word for growth. Last, I’d want to hear about how your walk with Jesus is going. Where you’re struggling and where you’re growing? What are your ups and your downs?

During that conversation, I’ll share with you some of the history of Griggs along with the mission of the church. There's always a lot going on and this would be a good time for me to try to help you see the big picture of what God is doing through our church.

Last, we’d ask that you stand before the church so that we can acknowledge your commitment to us, commit to you, and pray for you.  You don't have to say anything during this process, so it's not too nerve-racking. This can be done any week at any service.
