The Reconcile Stories Podcast

Bringing Welcome to The World & Vice Versa

The next time you find yourself searching for a new podcast to listen to while you drive around, save yourself some time. Check out the Reconcile Stories Podcast from Reconcile Community Church.

Reconcile Community Church sits on the west side of Greenville in the Welcome neighborhood and is led by Pastor Will Broadus. It's a beacon of hope in an area where well over half of the residents live below the poverty line and the rate of single-parent households soars above the national average.

Will started Reconcile Community Church back in 2018, answering a call to reach the community of Welcome, where he had grown up. Since then, the church has launched multiple outreach initiatives, particularly in the neighborhood’s schools, which are some of the most under-resourced in the Upstate.

About a year ago, in the summer of 2025, Will went on sabbatical with his family to rest and prepare for the next season of ministry. While he was away, a group of Reconcile members took over a room in the church's education building and transformed it into a sleek podcast studio, wired with gear and ready to go. All Will has to do now is press record and sit down with his guest.

"It was my sabbatical present," Will says. "It was all done by our volunteers over a span of six weeks."

Over the past year, Will has used the studio to record long-form interviews with a diverse array of people, both inside and outside his congregation, centered on their stories of conversion, church involvement, and ministry.

As Will puts it: "We do the podcast because testimonies are a unique way of encouraging God's people. We want to shine a light on stories of God's grace that people would not otherwise hear. We also see it as an evangelistic tool. It’s evidence that Jesus is alive and doing miraculous things in the lives of many."

As of this writing, there are 15 episodes, with guests ranging from Dr. Fant, president of North Greenville University, to worship leaders who came off the streets to praise God on the stage. Every episode opens with the same question: How'd you come to Christ? And each one is packed with reflections on following Jesus into the lives of "the least of these," all woven together through the guest's personal experiences. That's part of what makes Reconcile Stories so compelling.

Stories are the brain's favorite way to learn. They shed light on things we don't yet understand. They reveal what's hidden. They give language to things we don't have words for, and they let us see the world through someone else's eyes. What's it like to veer off Main Street in downtown Greenville and head to the back streets of Welcome, behind St. Francis Hospital and over toward White Horse Road? If you don't know, listen in.

You can find every episode of the Reconcile Stories Podcast on your favorite platform, or head to Reconcile Community Church's YouTube channel, where there's a full playlist of all the conversations on video. Enjoy!
