Members Meetings
One thing that is easy to do in church life is to get together, get excited about an idea, and then forget it in a matter of weeks because we get busy with the day-to-day cares of the ministry. We need to take scheduled time to get above the day-to-day busyness and look at the big picture of where we’re headed. Griggs members do this in our quarterly member meetings.
Each quarter, there will be an informational gathering on a Sunday after the morning service where we will go over finances, milestones, and opportunities for improvement, and then we’ll pray. Some of these meetings will include a time for Q&A and others will be more straightforward (and you can ask questions after). We ask all members to make a special effort to join us for these meetings.
Leadership (elders or deacons) will bring certain things to the church to affirm or deny through voting. These items include large expenditures and key decisions that affect the entire church family.
Any business meeting, whether quarterly or otherwise, will be announced in advance at our worship services and in our weekly email newsletter. Our business meetings will follow the Robert’s Rules of Order. Only members can vote. Decisions are made by a simple majority vote. All members must endeavor to participate with wisdom, care, and prayerfulness during the business meetings they are a part of.
