JAAZ AND KAITLIN TO MONGOLIA

Jaaz and Kaitlin cofer

Jaaz’s father, Micky Cofer, was a pioneer missionary in Mongolia and has been there for over 20 years. Having grown up in Mongolia, Jaaz developed a passion for mission work there and as a young adult was called to eventually co-labor in the ministry his father started.

He came to the states for college, met his wife Kaitlin and they now have two kids, Keziah and Ezra. Since 2019, they have worshiped with here us in Poe Mill for 9 months out of the year and went back to Mongolia to run a christian camp for the summers.

Now, they are gearing up to go to Mongolia full time to make disciples and plant healthy churches alongside Mongolia Missions.

Four Areas of Ministry

Mongolian Missions, focuses in on four-fold Biblical strategy for reaching Mongolia.

Church Planting: Ultimately, the goal is to disciple men to plant and pastor healthy churches.

Leadership Training: This is a big part of what Jaaz has been doing each summer. He plans and hosts leadership conferences for the pastors of local churches in Mongolian villages.

Gospel Printing: Mongolian Missions runs a printing press so that the scriptures and Christian literature can be translated and sent out through the entire country.

Christian Camp: Each summer hundreds of kids and teenagers from all over Mongolia come to camp to have fun, make friends, and be discipled. Jaaz has led this for the last several years.

Ministry information

  • Spiritual Oversight

Griggs Church is honored to be the sending church of Jaaz and Kaitlin Cofer. What we mean by sending church is that they are members of our congregation, we whole heartedly ordained Jaaz for his gospel ministry in Mongolia, and are confident in his calling and understanding of the gospel.

  • Financial Stewardship

While the Cofers seek to launch into Mongolia full-time, their support is going to them through Griggs Church (with help and oversight from our accounting firm, SPARA accounting). Over the next year, they will transition all of their financial intake to a ministry clearing house of some kind. You will be notified well in advance for any changes you need to make to your recurring giving.

  • On the Ground Accountability

Jaaz’s and Kaitlyn’s daily ministry accountability is through Mongolian Missions which is led by Jaaz’s father, Mickey Cofer. Jaaz and Kaitlyn also submit themselves to their local church in Mongolia, First Bible Mongolia. Additionly, they will be spending much of the next year in a missions training program in Kansas City, Missouri.
