Jaaz and Kaitlin cofer
Missionaries to Mongolia
Jaaz’s father, Micky Cofer, was a pioneer missionary in Mongolia and has been there for over 20 years. Early on in their family’s ministry, Jesus saved Jaaz and burdened his heart for missions in Mongolia. As a young adult, Jaaz was called to co-labor in the ministry his father started.
He came to the States to be further equipped; while in university, he met his wife, Kaitlin, who shared the same burden to share Jesus with those with little to no access to the Gospel message. They now have two kids, Kezia Rei and Ezra Ithiel. Since 2019, they have worshiped with us here in Poe Mill for 9 months out of the year and returned to Mongolia to run a Christian youth camp in the summers.
Now, they are gearing up to go to Mongolia full-time to make disciples, equip leaders, and plant churches alongside Khatgal Baptist Church and Mongolian Missions.
The Vision
The vision and their life goals are to make disciples resulting in a multiplying church in each of Mongolia’s 21 provinces, from the capital to the remotest overlooked province, and to mobilize and equip Mongolian believers willing to carry the gospel among unreached nations and to the ends of the earth.
The Mission
They are fully invested in their local church in the village and the First True Light Factory in order to see this vision come to reality.
They have come alongside the church in Khatgal, where they are seeing a multiplying movement of God happening as Jesus expands his church into neighboring villages—where people are hearing the gospel, coming to Christ, being baptized, and meeting regularly to worship the Lord Jesus.
Alongside his father, Jaaz is co-leading the ministry through First True Light Factory, where they are equipping disciples and using strategic outreach to further the gospel among Mongolia and the nations.
Currently, on the factory compound, Jaaz directs youth camp with the purpose of loving and serving the next generation of potential Christian leaders through building faith and community. Each summer, hundreds of teenagers from all across Mongolia come to camp to have fun, make friends, eat well, hear the gospel, and leave being transformed by Jesus.
The family organizes and facilitates pastoral conferences to equip and encourage established church leaders for faithful, enduring ministry across Mongolia’s provinces.
In the near future, they will have a 1–3 year residency on the factory property for equipping emerging leaders to serve, disciple, shepherd, and build up the body of Christ in Mongolia and among the nations.

Spiritual Oversight
Griggs Church is honored to be the sending church of Jaaz and Kaitlin Cofer. What we mean by sending church is that they are members of our congregation, we wholeheartedly ordained Jaaz for his gospel ministry in Mongolia, and we are confident in his calling and understanding of the gospel.

Financial Stewardship
While the Cofers seek to launch into Mongolia full-time, their support is currently going to them through Griggs Church (with help and oversight from our accounting firm, SPARA Accounting). Over the next year, they will transition all of their financial intake through First True Light Inc. You will be notified well in advance of any changes you need to make to your recurring giving.

On the Ground Accountability
Jaaz’s and Kaitlin’s daily ministry accountability is through the team in Mongolian Missions, which is led by Micky Cofer. Jaaz and Kaitlin also submit themselves to their local church in Mongolia.
