Nate first heard his calling to ministry as a teenager. He studied Youth Ministries at Bob Jones University, during which time he served as a leader at Griggs, planning services, preaching, leading music, and even driving the church van. After graduating, he moved to Houston, TX with his wife Marie and worked as a youth pastor for 8 years.

To make ends meet while in vocational ministry, he found part-time work in a variety of industries including construction, food service, landscaping, and general labor. These experiences taught him the value of networking, resume writing, interviewing, and a strong work ethic. More importantly, he saw the challenges and frustrations of the job search.

In 2021, Nate was introduced to The WorkFaith Connection, a nonprofit providing faith-based job readiness training and career coaching at no cost to their clients. After several months of classes and coaching sessions, he ended up joining the team as a career coach.

Less than a year later, God called Nate and his family back to Upstate South Carolina, where he now runs a local arm of WorkFaith. More than just classes and coaching, he helps individuals navigate deeply difficult seasons and attain long-term stability.

Each week Nate visits places like Miracle Hill Overcomers and Sammy’s Mission to teach job readiness skills.

The Vision

Our vision is to help job seekers and professionals connect their work with their faith and faithfully follow God’s calling through long-term employment.

The Mission

Our mission is simple: to provide faith-based training and coaching to anyone who desires long-term employment.

Thousands in our community are unemployed, while many others are overworked and underpaid, unable to build savings or plan ahead, and are one emergency away from financial disaster.

The Upstate’s rapid population growth has significantly increased the cost of living without matching wage growth. At the same time, inflation nationwide has soared, adding even more pressure to families already struggling to stay afloat.

The job market has grown increasingly complex with the rise of online job search and AI, leaving many confused and discouraged after sinking hours into online applications that are either ignored or rejected.

Many face additional barriers to stable employment, including criminal backgrounds, employment gaps, lack of education, health problems, unaffordable childcare, and lack of transportation. These obstacles often lead to discouragement, low self-worth, and settling for low-paying jobs.

Financial instability contributes to homelessness, crime, health issues, anxiety, and depression, while also weakening the local economy.

At WorkFaith, we see both the challenges and the opportunity. We bridge the gap by offering three free services:
• Live job readiness classes
• One-on-one career coaching
• On-demand courses & videos

Through these services, we have helped hundreds in the Greenville area navigate the job search and helped them find their next step toward self-sufficiency: long-term employment.
