Griggs Group Coaches
Purpose
The purpose of Griggs Group coaches is to provide clarity and accountability for Griggs Group leaders.
What Coaches Do
Coaches will lead a discussion for our group leaders at each of our GLC meetings.
These discussions are very basic and are designed to get group leaders to think about their goals, assess where they are, and identify what steps they need to take next in order to meet those goals.
The coach will ask a few questions, listen, take notes, and then follow up at the next GLC.
Discussion 1 (of the year/season)
What impact/difference do you want to make as a Griggs Group Leader?
What are some of the first things you’re going to do as a group leader to head towards meeting those goals?
What are some internal obstacles you face (or will face) as a small group leader (i.e., fear of man, fear of failure, procrastination)?
What are some external obstacles (i.e., I work late sometimes, I have some travel coming up)?
What can you do when you meet those obstacles?
Following Discussions
Where do you see God working in your group?
Let’s review what we discussed last time: What impact/difference do you want to make as a Griggs Group Leader?
What are some of the things you’ve already done to take steps towards meeting those goals?
What internal obstacles have you faced recently? What external obstacles have you faced?
What must you do next to meet your goals?
2. Coaches will be available for encouragement, brainstorming, and troubleshooting discussions.
Coaches should text, call, or catch group leaders after church to check in on how their Griggs Groups are going. They should also be available to talk occasionally about any problems a group leader is facing, to encourage them, and to help them brainstorm solutions.
